Episode 14: Second Stage 4 -Advent-

「What should I do?」

Saki Yoshino, Organizer M, was worried about the unexpected situation.

Anego’s intrusion throws the second stage into complete disarray.

At the same time that Saki is feeling troubled and complaining, the little Sakis in her head are also fretting about what to do with this uncontrollable situation.

「Yeeeeah, we’re in trouble.」

「Yeah it would be bad if we didn’t do something about Anego.」

「That’s right.」

After much deliberation, no real solution could be found.

「What should we do?」

「I’m not sure what to do.」

「We have to do something.」

「No…, I need to think of what to do first, yeah.」

「…huh?」

「「huh?」」

Saki, along with the little Sakis in her head, all turned to the person who said that last line. There is a woman mixed in with the many little Sakis that are floating around Saki’s head.

A girl with beautiful hair tied behind her head and wearing a blue dress. She is so cute that Saki can’t help but to stare.

No no wait. Why is there someone other than me in my head!!?

「Yo.」

「Y..yo.」

「So, I’m here to help out. So, let’s go.」

In her head, this Onee-san is reaching her hand towards Saki.

「Um?」

「I’ll explain in detail later. For now, touch.」

「Um… t..touch?」

Saki reached out with her consciousness as if to touch that hand.

「Ok then, let me borrow your body for a while.」

「Huh?」

Then, the moment Saki was touched by Onee-san’s cool hand, she became as much a part of her head as the little Sakis.

It happened just before the end of the 19th turn, as the representatives of each team finished their assignments in the rooms that their squares correlated to the square they were on and were returning to the main hall.

「Huh?」

I was one of the people who had stayed behind in the great hall, and I couldn’t help but look around.

Did I just feel something… or maybe it’s just my imagination?

The remaining participants in the main hall included Yukihime-neesan (who was sitting in a chair at the Sakura Team’s base, looking up at the monitor in front of the sugoroku board) and M (who has just gotten up from her chair at the Cat Ear Team’s base).

「I mean… what’s going on Yun?」

Ever since Batako-san appeared, M (or rather Yun-chan) has been making ‘Hmmm Hmmm’ noises as if she’s pondering. Then she started looking around restlessly.

「Oooh!」

Then, for some reason her eyes lit up as she started to walk. Then she suddenly took off running across the great hall.

「Wow, this is amazing! It’s really the outside world!」

Watching M spin around happily with her arms outstretched, everyone (including myself, Imawano-san the banker, the TV staff, and the gallery on the second floor) were confused and surprised.

M, who was having so much fun, suddenly noticed me standing in front of the sugoroku board and came over.

「Yo Juugo!」

「Y..yo?」

I was a little surprised when she raised her hand so enthusiastically. I was also a little nervous when she called me by my name. I was nervous because if Tetsu-kun had been there, he would have definitely chopped off my head.

Uh, no no no, that’s beside the point. What is this?

While I was confused by the sudden friendly response from M (or rather Yun-chan), she tapped me on the shoulder.

「Well, I saw you on TV, and it looks like you’re doing really well.」

「? W..what’s up?」

「But now that I’m here, things aren’t going to go so well for you.」

「? Okay?」

「Well, see you later.」

With that, M took off running again, looking around with great interest at the equipment and staff in the shooting area.

…that was Yun-chan right? Her aura is similar to someone else’s now…「

Then I heard a short scream. I turned around wondering what was going on and let out a scream myself.

The reason is that the bartender gorokuma at the bar counter had become a real gorokuma.

That’s right, he had become real. Gorokuma are the well known black snowman. He is a black snowman with long arms and legs and a long hat on his head that could be mistaken for a bucket. The fact that it’s called a bear is nothing short of a lie.

The gorokuma had somehow become a realistic black bear.

No matter how you look at it, it’s a bear. The coloring of its body is solid black, but it’s body and fur make it nothing other than a real bear. It’s wearing a bartender’s  uniform, standing skillfully on two feet, shaking the tumbler.

Not only the bartender kumagoro, but also the helper kumagoro in the shooting area and even the masked kumagoro that was supporting the banker Imawano-san, who was acting as the facilitator, were transformed into real black bears (each about two meters long).

What the hell happened?

At this point, the people who had gone to the numbered rooms returned to the great hall.

M‘s eccentric behavior continues here as well.

「Tensai-chaaaan, yo!」

「! Y..yo?」

The great detective is truly frightened by M‘s greeting as she cheerfully raises her hand. Furthermore…

「Yay, Tensai-chan. You’re so warm!」

「H..h..hey! You suddenly hugged me! W..what is this?」

A sudden hug, and the great detective becomes noticeably disturbed.

「T..this is…」

Next, Nishi-san returned to the main hall and was stunned to see M embracing the great detective.

「Oh, Asumi-chan. Yo!」

「? Y..yo?」

「We’ll be on the same team for a little while, so let’s do our best! Yay!」

Nishi-san hesitantly exchanges high-fives with M, who smiles and holds out her hand, clearly with a different personality.

「? N.. nice to meet you.」

…I mean, um… what?

Then, on the following 20th turn, the number of 《dice tickets》 we had left was half what we started with.

The other six participants in the room, except M, were all looking at her strangely. The only ones not there are Ikusaba-san who is still curled up in the waiting room, and Batako-san who always wonders off until there is a 《forced acquisition game》.

「I..it’s turn 20, so please roll the dice in order.」

Banker Imawano-san still seems confused about the declaration. In response, the Detective Team’s Tensai, Sakura Team’s Yukihime-neesan, and the Lady  Team’s Ageha rolled their dice.

Finally, M, who came out as a representative of the Cat Ear Team, picks up the dice and speaks.

「Umm, Juugo’s team rolled an 8, so I should roll a 4?」

Huh? What does she mean by that?

While I was confused, M had thrown the dice through the air and they rolled around the board.

The dice ended up being a 1 and 3 which makes the roll a 4.

「A good start.」

I was stunned to see M grinning as she declared this.

I mean huh? What the heck is going on?

Then the four pieces began to move on their own until they stopped on the correct squares. Then the main hall was flooded with red lights.

A 《forced acquisition game》 was triggered.

Landing on the same square was our Lady Team and M‘s Cat Ear Team. (Who has been acting strangely for awhile now)

And of course, the person who will be representing our team in the 《forced acquisition game》 will be that person.

「When called they jump out and say ‘tah-dah’.」

Here comes the Great Demon King Hakushon.

Batako-san had been wandering around for a while, but when the 《forced acquisition game》 started, she always returned just in time.

On the other hand, the one who came out for the Cat Ear Team was M, who seemed like a completely different person.

Batakopsan, who doesn’t seem to notice the change to M, casually calls out to her.

「What? Huh? My next opponent is Yun? Well, please go easy on me….」

Suddenly Batako-san takes a few steps back. No, that’s not right. Batako-san had instantly put some distance between herself and Yun-chan.

「What’s wrong? Hurry up, let’s go.」

M glanced at Batako-san and quickly left the main hall.

「……」

I’m surprised when I see the face of Batako-san who was left by herself.

This is because Batako-san had a serious expression on her face for the first time since she came here.

 

I followed Batako-san and moved to the robbery room.

And I wasn’t the only one that came along. Nishi-san who is on the same team as M followed too. As well as Tensai.

「Anyways, Tensai. Since you’re practically a one-person team now, wouldn’t it be bad if you don’t go to the room for the square you landed on?」

「It’s fine. I just told the banker that I would abstain this time.」

Even though her team is currently at the bottom, she is willing to give up the chance for more coins. The expression on Tensai’s face is very serious.

I understand that feeling, it’s the same with me.
