Chapter 165x Part 1

(Intermission 5) The Misfortune of a Certain Careless Woman

A young woman was running desperately through a quiet residential area at night.

As for her age, she was in her mid-20s. She wasn’t very tall and had a slim figure, but seemed to have large enough breasts to sway around.

It was the time of year when the heat and humidity remained even at night.

Running with a frantic look on her face, her whole body was covered in sweat, causing all of her makeup to come off.

Even as they got into August, Monday was the start of the week for most working adults.

However, the izakaya, which was known for its cheap, large portions and delicious food, was nearly full to capacity with women who appeared to be having a drink on their way home after work.

She was having a drink with two classmates from her junior college days whom she had met for the first time in a long time.

When you became full-fledged members of society, friendships from your school days tended to become distant, but partly because the three of them worked in the same city, they had continued to get together and drink a few times a year.

Of course, one of the main reasons for this was that all three of them had one thing in common: they were unmarried and had no definite lovers even though it had been nearly five years since they had graduated.

It was by no means that there was anything wrong with their appearances, as they took pride in the fact that they were above average, but the world wasn’t so nice that they could get into a relationship with men with just that.

It was a constant struggle for her colleagues who were tasked with supporting her, though.

That said, although she couldn’t bring herself to reveal it to her friends, who had been struggling to find a man all this time, she was in fact blessed. Up until now, through her mother’s connections, she had gotten into relationships with men twice.

In another world line, there were probably men who would find an 「airheaded, scatterbrain, clumsy girl」 cute. On top of that, if she was so cute that she looked younger than her actual age, there was probably no need to say anything more.

However, in this world, it was fatal.

As such, both times, the man broke up with her in less than a month, and she didn’t get to graduate from being a virgin.

However, good fortune was about to fall upon her for the first time in four years.

She hadn’t been told the name or address of the other party, and she had even been told not to tell anyone about the meeting.

「It must be a scam.」

「They must have meant to say 46.」

「So cruel!」

She was indignant at their immediate responses, which they gave right the moment she made the V sign.

「It’s true! He’s really a 16-year-old high school boy. And I heard he’s incredibly good looking. It’s daytime, but it’s been decided that we’ll meet at a hotel in Omiya City, Saitama Prefecture! Naturally, I’ve taken paid leave!」

She protested in a childish tone that made it hard to believe that she was a working adult.

Perhaps triggered by their immediate denial, she ended up telling her all the information she knew.

However, her friends showed no signs that they would believe it so easily.

When it came to 16-year-old high school boys, most of them were at an age where they had no experience with women yet.

So there was no reason for them to go out of their way to meet a woman 10 years older than them at a hotel.

Even after that, they continued to argue, and their voices gradually grew louder and louder.

The three of them were so heated up that they didn’t even notice that the women seated around them were listening in.
