Return of the Fallen Volume 12 Chapter 128
“You little imp bastard what trickery is this? A mere Golem should have been destroyed a million times over by now.”
Kazuki laughed.
“True. With the amount of power you’ve displayed, a mere Golem should have been destroyed countless times already but who says this is a mere Golem? Allow me to introduce you to my Titan Golem.”
The sound of metal creaking and grinding away echoed out in this space as Kazuki’s Titan Golem reformed and remade itself.
It towered over Gardius like the giant it was. This did not intimidate him but it did frustrate him further.
“This toy of yours, just like you is oddly annoying. Every time I destroy it somehow comes back.”
Kazuki nodded while dodging millions of magic attacks that continuously sought him out.
“My Titan Golem is special. I’m sure you’ll come to discover that soon enough.”
Kazuki smiled as he continued to race away faster than light. Gardius now understood how Kazuki was so fast. He watched the gauntlet on Kazuki’s hand and arm and sensed its flow of energy.
(So that is the source of his speed. This man has too many things up his sleeve. An Artifact that allows him to move faster than anything I’ve ever seen and even a strange Golem that doesn’t seem to die. No matter. So long as I keep the treasure sealed, there won’t be another fluctuation in space. I’ll kill this irritation and claim my prize as ruler over all things.)
The Titan Golem threw an oversized fist at Gardius. This Titan Golem was already a third the size of this world so its fist was not something easily dealt with. Its body was made from a special metal called Cosmic metal and it was powered by Cosmic crystals or rather it was before Kazuki upgraded it in the last city he was in. Before, his Titan Golem could take several hits from a 7th stage being before it would need to be repaired. After upgrading his Golem, it could now deal with a Demigod for several minutes.
Of course, this did not mean it could deal with a God of any level but because of its ability to repair itself from even the smallest fraction that remained. It meant this Titan Golem could continue on and on.
Only if one destroyed every single part of the Titan Golem at the exact same time would it be fully destroyed. If there was even a microscopic piece left behind, the many inscriptions etched within would reactivate and it would repair itself immediately.
The first Titan Golem was mainly Danny’s idea and most of it had come together due to him but this new and improved Titan Golem was spawned from those basic ideas and Kazuki had created something the universe had never seen.
A true marvel of Magitech. With knowledge of trillions of individuals inside his head, he could claim pride with his Golems.
As the Titan Golem threw out a fist at Gardius, Gardius simply flicked a single finger.
His finger collided with the oversized Golem’s fist and the logical thing happened. The entire Golem exploded from the heavy impact but that did not stop it. Beneath the surface world, on the microscopic level and then a smaller level below even that, a few tiny fragments of Golem remained. Kazuki and Danny had crafted a special device, a magic infuzer to inscribe inscriptions on objects of this tiny scale. Because of this, these tiny fragments had billions of special inscriptions.
They needn’t even use their Cosmic crystals if they were destroyed, instead, they could feed off the energy in their surroundings or even tap into Kazuki’s storage ring automatically and draw energy from the Divine crystals he had stored within.
The repairs happened almost instantaneously as they drew energy from their surroundings. Once more the Titan Golem reformed.
Gardius heaved deeply before analyzing the Golem from head to toe. He refused to believe he could not destroy it permanently. He rushed forward ready to strike it. The Golem’s jewel-like eyes began to glow. Crimson lightning combined with Kazuki’s sword forms came raining down around the Titan Golem as it was preparing another attack.
Just like the horse golem Kazuki had made for a certain possessed child in Satruss city, this Golem of his could do things more independently from Kazuki and was actively learning while it fought.
After only a few exchanges with Gardius, it was already aware of the gap in strength and switched tactics for the best results.
Gardius didn’t care though and flew straight through the red lightning. Since he was a God, Kazuki’s Golem simply did not have enough power to affect him in any meaningful way with the sword forms or red lightning. This lightning merely bounced off of Gardius’s skin before it encountered his magic and was destroyed.
Gardius once more hammered this oversized toy in his eyes causing it to explode.
Kazuki watched from afar as he continued to dodge millions of incoming magic attacks. It was more difficult than normal due to the fact that turning on the spot would rip his entire body to shreds. The speed was simply too much for Kazuki to take. This meant any evasive maneuvers came with agonizing pain as his body was torn apart again and again and again under the astronomical forces this speed produced.
He took all of the pain and endured it while observing Gardius, rather he was waiting for Gardius to do something specifically.
Gardius once more destroyed the Titan Golem easily. This time however he observed carefully and used his Artifact ring to sense the energy around him. More specifically, he noticed that there was no longer a power source inside the Titan Golem after the first time he broke it.
(This thing keeps repairing itself but that requires energy. It’s obvious it’s getting energy from its surroundings but that doesn’t help me figure this shit out. I need to find where it is taking all of this energy in. It must have a hidden storage device or something I’m missing. Some spot where it is taking in the energy to repair itself.)
Gardius quickly sensed a few spots in the air in front of him. The energy was clearly gathering in these spots but he could not see anything beyond that nor could he sense the exact location.)
Gardius’s called out to the ring on his finger.
“Quickly show me the source!”
His ring responded in kind. It glowed brightly with golden light before this light shot out of the ring and directly into his eyes. Gardius’s eyes took on the same radiant gold color and his eyes darted across the battlefield as he searched for the source.
“So there they are!”
It took no time at all for him to find what he was looking for. Gardius had found the small fragments and launched his magic at all of these points in the sky at the same time.
The faintest sound of little pops rang out as he destroyed all of the fragments in one go.
Just as he expected, the Titan Golem did not make a return.
Gardius looked smugly at Kazuki but Kauzki was not upset in the least. Even through gritted teeth and pain, he smiled before activating his storage ring once again.
“Good job, one down so far but who says I only have one.”
Kazuki wore a shit-eating grin as another Titan Golem was pulled from his storage ring. This one appeared exactly the same as the one before. A big heaping chunky Golem. Bigger than anything in this floating place. Its size was so big it had its own natural gravity.
Gardius did not know why Kazuki was still pushing with these stupid toys and didn’t hesitate to destroy this new Golem. His eyes still contained the same glow from his ring and he quickly spotted the fragments and destroyed them.
“Is this really all you have? Just accept your fate and lay down like a dog and die.”
Kazuki said nothing and instead, he continued flying away.
(Since the seal has Origin energy inside, I need him to waste more Origin energy so he doesn’t have any backup. He’s used it on the treasure, this world, and now his eyes. I’ll drag even more out just watch.)
Kazuki took out another Titan Golem and laughed through gritted teeth as he flew away.
Gardius was growing tired of this as he destroyed it again and used his ring to find the other fragments.
Finally, after Kazuki brought out another Golem, Gardius was furious.
“ENOUGH WITH THESE TOYS!”
Gardius decided the best solution was to completely ignore the Titan Golem and go straight for Kazuki. After all, it could cause him no harm. Rather the longer he played Kauzki’s game, the more Origin energy he was wasting, and for basically no reason.
Gardius changed the way his plasma bolts moved. They quickly began to form large nets as they crisscrossed with one another in the air. At the same time, A long blade appeared in his hand as he chased after Kazuki like a demonic God. He was furious. The fact that he had to bring out his Divine Soul weapon and sue all of this power for someone who was so much weaker than him, ate away at his ego.
(This bastard will die by my hands no matter what!)
