Return of the Fallen Volume 12 Chapter 131

It was one thing for these Factions and Clans to be waiting outside the sealed world when they knew their leaders were still alive. Even with Gardius’s seal covering the green world, some of the stronger Gods could still sense their leaders inside. Because of this, after these Factions and clans slaughtered the Crescent moon knight Faction, there was a semblance of peace between them.

To break order at that time would have only gotten you killed by those still loyal to Brella and the other Supreme Gods stuck inside the seal. However, the moment the seal broke and no one could sense their leaders, things took a turn.

With Gardius nowhere to be seen, with their leaders no more, and the treasure glowing brilliantly among the debris, a spark of greed lit within them all.

After the explosion and after the Chaotic tear devoured millions upon millions of Gods, the competition had shrunk drastically. Now, before them, all was a treasure that supposedly could grant them untold power to rule above all. The spark of greed within them all erupted and became a blazing inferno as they all unceremoniously rushed forward toward the Artifact.

A new battle erupted amongst them. The number of Gods had gone from around 100 million at the start of everyone arriving at the Black gate to now. The number had shrunk to a measly few million. This number though was rapidly falling as blood was shed with zero hesitation.

An opportunity to rule the universe…How many times in all of history would such a chance arrive? One would have to be a fool not to seek glory.

At the same time as this bloodbath occurred, far in the distance, Kazuki awoke.

The explosion had knocked him far and away. Coming to he honestly was shocked to find himself still alive but he quickly understood how he survived something no Demigod should have. Wrapped around his body was Brella’s golden black armor.

She, along with Stasha, Jinkin, Cainen, Carta, and Dredinkar appeared nearby.

The armor shined with golden light but was covered in damage. It was bent out of shape and heavily dented all over. As soon as Kazuki came to, the shining armor began to fade of all light. it was completely depleted of Origin energy.

Brella opened a palm and the armor opened up and gently pushed Kazuki out before it wrapped around Brella. Kazuki’s body was mangled and a bloodied mess. Bones were sticking out of his skin at odd angles and limbs held on by only a few threads of skin and fleshy muscle.

His body regenerated faster than any of them could imagine and he was soon healed. Seeing this, Brella nodded before speaking through her mind.

(A few fractions of a second after the seal blew apart, the seal around your ring was destroyed as well. I just barely managed to wrap my armor around you but I was doubtful if it would actually save you. Seeing how quickly you can recover, it seems my armor only played a part in protecting you.)

Kazuki shook his head.

(No, my recovery is one thing, if not for your armor, there’s no question I would no longer exist. For that, I am deeply grateful.)

Brella smirked before slapping Kazuki on his back.

(You saved me first and I hate owing favors. It was only natural to repay you in kind. Don’t ask for t again though because my armor hasn’t an ounce of Origin energy left.)

Brella began to laugh while Cainen was looking around worriedly for his drum. Jinkin as well was thanking Kazuki and Carter was unsure what to think. She had come to this place full of confidence and ready to take away the prize but instead, she had to be saved far too many times to count. Dredinkar on the other hand was full of smiles. He did not expect to leave this place alive. If things really came to it he would have had to sacrifice his card but thankfully Kauzki had pulled something incredible off.

Stasha on the other hand was crying and talking in mouthing something.

(We made it, we actually made it my precious baby. Don’t worry, I’ll get you someplace safe and fix you up like new.)

Stasha was actually rubbing her face on the side of her ship and treating her ship like it was her child. Her tears were a mix of both sadness and joy. Her ship was badly damaged and she had used up all of her Origin energy as well but in the end, she had survived something unbelievable.

(So how is it?)

Kazuki asked her curiously.

Stasha had been weary of Kazuki earlier. Her senses were sharper than most and she could tell he was hiding many secrets. In the end, though he came up with a plan and saved them all. Not only that but she understood that Kauzki had an opportunity to take the Artifact when the seal broke but in the end, he didn’t even try for it. She didn’t understand this but from this, she gathered he wasn’t as greedy as the others.

She now trusted him to some extent, at least more so than the other Gods around her.

(My precious ship is hurting right now but it will recover in time. If I had some Origin energy, it would be much easier to repair my baby but for now, she’s ok.)

As everyone was talking and all smiles, it was then that they sensed the happenings far away. They could sense the bloodshed taking place far away. Brella’s smile disappeared and she became pissed instantly.

(These fucking MORONS! I’m gone for but a moment and order breaks down.)

Brella sped off in the direction of the battlefield leaving everyone behind.

Jinkin as well saw his clan fighting and killing not only other Factions and clans but also themselves. After everything they’ve been through. To see his own clan tearing themselves apart was maddening to watch.

Cainen was still searching for his Drum Artifact but he could not see nor sense it whatsoever. He was forced to abandon his search for now and rush to the battlefield to stop his Faction from completely being wiped out.

Stasha sighed inwardly. She wished to remain here and keep her precious Vajra ship from completely falling apart but she still had duties to fulfill. She hopped aboard her ship and raced ahead even faster than the others. The trial of silverish light she left behind was broken in some parts but all in all, she still got ahead of the others.

Kazuki knew it was a pointless endeavor for all of them. In the end, the treasure was Arc’s missing piece. None of them could claim it. He wondered if he should stop them. Even if he wanted to, it’s not like he actually could physically stop a Supreme God in the first place. At most delay but would that even do anything?

At the same time, If he just left things as they were, they may destroy one another. If not for them, he would 100% be long-dead. There was no way he would have escaped the explosion set off by Gardius’s magic and seals.

(Just thinking about that moment. If my gauntlet weren’t on the other side of that rift, I would have been able to escape safely but it was on the other side of the rift. I did receive their help. If Stasha didn’t use her ship to open two rifts, if Cainene didn’t send his drum through said rift, and if Brella didn’t wrap her armor around me, I would no longer be here.)

Kazuki sighed inwardly.

(Fuck it. Even if things seem even it would feel disgusting to know they tore themselves apart over something they simply cannot have or claim. If I just tell them this honestly though it will stop nothing.)

Kazuki smiled before activating his gauntlet. The wings flapped and shined with silver light before he shot forward faster than light.

(I’ll take the Artifact for Arc. Everyone else, unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be, heh.)

Kazuki did not want these people that all come together for one singular purpose just moments ago to suddenly tear each other apart. It felt nasty to him and if he just watched and let it happen, he felt it would leave a mark on him. One he could not wash off.

Speeding through the depths of space, he flew past Cainen and Jinkin with relative ease. Very quickly he came upon Brella and she swore something fierce as she quickly realized why the others were all fighting. With Kazuki’s speed, she knew he would reach the Artifact long before her.

She questioned whether she should just let him go. In the end, she could not simply watch as an ultimate power fell into another’s hands. Still, she was no devil as she warned Kazuki.

(STOP! EVEN IF WE JUST CAME TOGETHER TO SAVE ONE ANOTHER, THE ARTIFACT WILL BE MINE! LEAVE IT OR YOU WILL FORCE MY HAND!)

Kazuki smiled at her before flying even faster ahead of her.
