Zetrazz casually raised a hand and with a wave of it, Kazuki’s death was imminent.

Anger, fear, disbelief. A mix of emotions swarmed Kazuki but he forced himself to calm down and think. The gears turning in his head at a million miles an hour. All useless thoughts left him. Fight back, couldn’t be done. Run, there was no way that was possible either. Still, he had to do something, anything at all, otherwise, this was it.

Just as Zetrazz prepared to wave his hand and erase Kazuki’s existence, words slipped from Kazuki’s mouth, or rather he shouted them with everything he had in fear he would be too late to stop this attack.

“GLASCIOUS WAS RIGHT ABOUT YOU!”

As these words exploded from his mouth, Zetrazz falling hand came to an abrupt stop.

The shadowy figure in front of Kazuki slowly tilted his head.

(It actually worked?!?!?!?!?)

Kazuki was lost in thought. A wave of relief washed over him. He had pulled a desperate card straight out of his ass yet it was enough to stall a titan of all beings.

Kazuki couldn’t tell if the titan was now curious or stupified that he would mention Glacious at this moment of death. The titan’s next words though revealed a bit more.

“What was that? Glacious was right about me, what about?”

As soon as Zetrazz echoed his statement, Kazuki received a few clues and his mind again turned as fast as possible to try and play this out.

(If I can get the conversation to continue I may find a way out. How though. He wants an answer to my statement but what do I say. From the looks of this monster, why would my words about Glacious cause him to pause or curiosity? Glacious and he have apparently lived near one another for hundreds or thousands of years. The two are not friendly nor are they enemies. At the same time, they don’t cross into one another’s territory. That is evident by the fact that Glacious wasn’t allowed to come down here the moment I fell in this abyssal trench. At the same time, the two did not come to blows in all this time. The question is why I need more.)

Kazuki had remained silent for far too long and Zetrazz was growing impatient. He was about to shout at Kazuki but Kazuki finally responded.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have mentioned that lizard bastard at all. It’s just well when you were about to kill me, I realized what he said about you was 100% correct.”

Again Zetrazz went quiet for a moment and again Kazuki had bought a little more time. His life extended for just a tiny bit more.

(He’s gone quiet again. He seems even more curious about what Glacious said about him. I can’t let him know I’m lying about Glacious saying anything about him. Following the next logical step, he should ask me again. This time I have to say something to keep him going to open up more.)

“Hmph, that ugly little lizard is indeed a bastard. He keeps a tiny world so close to my own territory and acts like a god on a high mountain. I’ll kill him. Tell me, what did he say?”

(By his own words it seems like he hates Glacious but that shouldn’t be exactly so, otherwise, why has he not just killed Glacious once and for all, unless…Could it be, he isn’t sure he can win. If this is true I won’t need to get him to open up at all. I have to be sure though.)

“If I tell you, will you not kill me?”

The dark energy in the cavern suddenly expanded again and again in an instant before sweeping over Kazuki and pressing him into the ground. Kazuki could feel his bones breaking one by one and he could do nothing to resist.

“You dare bargain with me. I do not care for the lives of ants and yet you actually are so presumptuous as to think you can make a deal.”

Kazuki could not move his body under this pressure but still, he spoke.

“If I really am so insignificant and I don’t matter in your eyes then why is it such a big problem to spare my life. The information I hold if you really don’t care to hear it then go ahead and crush me but believe me when I say if you really kill me, I do believe it will be Glacious who looks down upon you and he will probably have the last laugh because of it.”

Kazuki was betting his all on this. By these few exchanges, he had already learned a lot about Zetrazz and his personality. From what Glacious described, Titan’s are beings of immense power and are beyond ancient. Usually, they will claim a chunk of the world and reside their growing in strength and power. They will literally do nothing and are not concerned nor show any interest in other beings but that’s only if no one bothers them. If one draws their ire, they won’t hesitate to destroy them. This is what Glacious had taught Kazuki and also what Kazuki garnered from some of Glacious’s memories. He knew this but the way Zetrazz acted was different.

It was true, the first part about him not messing with anyone as long as they didn’t do anything first. It was also true that Zetrazz, like other titans, remained in his territory gaining strength over time. The thing that seemed to separate him from other titans though was emotion. From these small exchanges between him and Kazuki, Kazuki could see that Zetrazz hated Glacious, yet from the memories, Kazuki had received from Glacious, Glacious had never done anything, in particular, to piss Zetrazz off.

(They have no interaction except for a few times. From Glacious’s memories, no bad blood has ever formed between the two. The fact that they live near each other should be the only inkling of bad will yet Zetrazz literally just said he wants to kill Glacious. A titan shouldn’t be emotional but that’s if they are just a usual run of the mill titan, Zetrazz though doesn’t seem to be usual in the slightest. Looking back on what he said to that goat-headed bastard Satorus, he mentioned how disgusted he was that Satorus who was stronger than I ran like a coward. For him to actually say he was disgusted and it moved him enough to kill Satorus and yet he has not made a single move against Glacious whom he claimed he wants to kill…The clues are few but it leads me to believe that Zetrazz is either weaker and he can’t beat Glacious and is disgusted with himself as he was Satorus or he actually is stronger than Glacious but again he isn’t sure he can beat him and again that disgust him. If he spares me then this might be the case. If it is so, I can possibly use this.)

As Kazuki’s mind was running a marathon, he felt his vision start to become muddled as he was starting to pass out from the weight of the dark energy pressing upon him. Just as he was about to pass out, the dark energy retreated back to Zetrazz.

“Fine. I can spare your life but at the same time, after everything, I’ve done how can you even trust my word. Why wouldn’t I just kill you after you tell me what you know?”

Kazuki took in a deep breath of air and coughed several times as he tried to catch his breath.

*Cough cough hack cough. Huff puff huff*

Kazuki sat up and shook his head.

“I think once you hear what Glacious has said about you, you wouldn’t want to kill me, or rather you might be embarrassed to kill me afterward.”

*Heh*

To Kazuki’s surprise, his words actually caused the titan to emit a low chuckle.

(This titan definitely isn’t as Glacious has described. He’s different.)

“Ok, you have made me more and more curious. For his words to be so powerful that they could slip past your lips and actually prevent me from killing you, because of embarrassment. I most definitely need to hear this. Speak truthfully and I promise not to kill you. Do you trust my words?”

Kazuki shrugged his shoulders.

“Whether I trust them or not doesn’t matter. I can only hope you are the type to keep your word but hey, as an ant, I can’t really complain now can I?”

*Pfftt*

“You are a bold one but your not wrong. Enough with the this’s and that’s. just hurry up and tell me what Glacious said about me and I’ll send you on your way mortal.”

With everything, Kazuki knew he came to a conclusion, and a lie formed within his head.

“That lizard said a few things but the main thing you wish to know, well, I’ll just say it and let you judge if his words are accurate or not. He told me, that even though you are a titan, a being beyond most comprehension and hold a power that could crush a continent, that you are terrified of him. Not only are you terrified of him but the only way you can show strength and superiority over others is by suppressing this entire underground world. You do this so no beings down here can use magic properly. In doing so no rival will ever grow in power to challenge you. You are afraid that given the opportunity, someone or something will arise to take you on and you will kill anything that shows potential claiming they are mere ants or something like that.”

The shroud of dark energy engulfing Zetrazz shook for a single moment when Kazuki said this and a deep silence overtook this cave.
