Return of the Fallen Volume 7 Chapter 94

Kazuki found Sid right away. The old man had simply waited around. He knew that Kazuki would either return after a day or so or not at all. So he waited. The time from when Kazuki left with Dreunz’s grandson, to the time he went to the far north to returning back to Edngaul and then to come and find Sid was only a few hours total and most of that time was from Dreunz’s grandson telling Kazuki to go slowly in the beginning so that he could play with Danny.

Kazuki picked up the old man and they quickly arrived back at his shop. Danny and the others were already waiting inside.

Inside Sid’s shop, Kazuki was surprised to see Sasai lying on the floor unconscious.

Kazuki rushed over thinking something was wrong but Tozu assured him everything was fine.

“My little brother became overwhelmed and he passed out.”

Kazuki couldn’t understand this. Sasai was an Ancient beast with incredible strength and skill. All he was doing was rescuing folks and things like that.

“What could have possibly overwhelmed him? He literally stayed by my side when the dual suns were about to crash into us. He was willing to go out like that and I had to forcefully push him away from death yet something in this city affected him to such a degree.”

Shaila started to giggle before she pointed at several small marks on Sasai’s face.

Kazuki took a closer look and found that these small marks were actually made from lipstick.

“Kisses?”

*Hehehe*

“He couldn’t handle it. After we saved all of those people, the women were attracted to his face. There were loads of men eyeing for me as well but with my husband there, what man would dare approach, hehe. Danny looks like a metal puppet so only children came up to him wanting to play. Sasai though is different. Tozu didn’t protect him and with a face, ladies would die over, he was swarmed in an instant. You told us not to harm anyone unless they were trying to harm us so Sasai could do nothing. He was swarmed by women old and young and well, that is the state he’s in now.”

Danny rubbed his chin in thought.

“Kazuki it was quite unusual. I’ve never seen such a phobia. This phobia of his, it’s almost like it releases a pheromone or something. It was like the women knew he was terrified of them and that just made him appear like a juicy piece of meat or something. It was very interesting to see first hand.”

Kazuki couldn’t help but sense a little jealousy coming from Danny. While the women were swarming Sasai, only kids, mostly boys approached him and it was only because he looked like a cool robot.

Kazuki now understood the situation and was about to move their talk to the back room when a pounding was heard at the door.

Everyone released their aura in an instant and they suddenly heard a scream from behind the door.

Kazuki opened the door and saw a face he really didn’t want to right now.

It was Jool the city lord, Tilly’s shitty son. The moment they had released their aura, Jool had felt a terrifying pressure and squealed like a schoolgirl. Jool was lucky they held back, otherwise, they could have turned him into meat paste with their aura.

Behind Jool there was a full squadron of soldiers. Each one had inscription tattoos and was stronger than a few people combined but the moment they saw Kazuki and witnessed their city lord suddenly fall on his ass and squeal. This sent shivers down their spines. A mixture of fear and admiration to the ones who saved so many in their city just moments ago.

Jool as well felt indescribable fear when Kazuki first opened the door. Kazuki was now bigger and taller from the last time Jool had seen him. He remembered how powerful Kazuki ahd been then. Seeing him now, Jool couldn’t help but wonder how much stronger Kazuki had gotten as well as if he was truly a human to begin with. Afterall, what human could grow so large in a matter of days or weeks. After a moment, Jool began to settle down but it was difficult because of these large beings in front of him.

Kazuki and the rest emitted a dominating presence merely standing there. For an instant, the thought of doing battle with such powerful beings passed through their minds and this only brought them a deep feeling of dread. There was no way they could last even a second and they knew it.

Kazuki looked down at Jool, contempt clearly on his face.

Jool saw this and was frustrated but could do nothing in response. A few of his guards helped him up but he pushed them away.

“Enough, I don’t need your help neither did I ask for it. You lot just stand there and stay out of the way.”

Jool straightened his clothes and was about to speak but Kazuki spoke first.

“I’d ask why someone unwelcomed such as yourself came but I already know the answer. You want to know about the destruction, who caused it, and why as well as what comes next correct?”

Jool was miffed that Kazuki stole the momentum of the conversation but at least it seemed like Kazuki would explain the situation.

Still, Jool wore an arrogant expression as he spoke.

“It’s just as you said. For part of my city to suddenly erupt and it’s already been seen that thousands have died and more injured, the people need to know why but more importantly I need to know just what in the 7 realms of hell has happened. That’s why I personally came here. Eyewitnesses put you and several others above the city just before things went out of control. Now if we can step inside and talk. I would like an explanation.”

Jool went to take a step inside but Kazuki didn’t move out of the doorway and blocked his path.

“What are you doing? Are you not going to explain yourself and

Before Jool could finish another word Kazuki reached forward and grabbed Jool by the face. With a slight squeeze, he then lifted the city lord off the ground and held him in the air.

“Did I give you permission to enter this place?”

“CITY LORD!”

The moment this happened the guards all grabbed their weapons at their side but before they could draw them, Kazuki’s aura came sweeping out and pushed down on them with such pressure that none of them could move.

Their inscription tattoos lit up with bright lights and their strength increased severalfold but even with the added strength, they couldn’t budge an inch. Kazuki then gave them a look and a few of them fainted right then and there on the spot.

They all realized their place and felt like fools for even attempting to pull their weapons in his presence. At this moment, they felt the veil of death loom over them and a single thought flashed through their heads simultaneously.

(We’re all going to die.)

Kazuki’s cold voice spread over them at this time.

“Did you not hear your master’s order? He told you all to just stand there and stay out of the way. If you can’t even follow this one thing, tell me, are any of you needed.”

Just as the guards thought Kazuki was going to kill them, the aura suppressing them suddenly was lifted and vanished.

The guards all shared a similar look but Kazuki just chuckled slightly.

*Hehe*

“No need to be so frightened, leave me be and I’ll extend you the same courtesy.”

The guards didn’t know what to do at this moment. Their lord and master was actively being harmed directly in front of them but none of them could make a move for if they did, they would die immediately.

“As for you, little Jool. Have you already forgotten how I last left you? While it’s true that you and I are not enemies, it is also true that I despise you. At the same time, I understand why you are how you are. Your mother…Nevermind. The point is, you will not step a foot into this place, even if you are the lord of this city, that title means jack shit to me. Now, do you still wish to hear what happened or does this need to escalate further? Either way, I’m more than happy to go down that road with you. What say you?”

*Err*

Jool released a small grunt. Seeing as how Kazuki held him by the jaw, it was the only noise he could make.

Kazuki let him down.

“What was that, speak up.”

Jool glared at Kazuki but he made no further attempts to enter Sid’s shop.

“I said I understand. I…I won’t push. It’s not like I need to go in specifically.”

“Very well then. I’ll start from the top.”

From the top Kazuki said but that didn’t mean he would tell him everything, nor would he tell the full truth as there was no need. In the end, Jool only got a bit of the picture. He knew Kazuki wasn’t telling him everything but there was nothing he could do about that.

Jool could only leave at this point in frustration. He knew if he tried to dig it would only put himself in an unwanted corner. Not only that but he still had many things that required his attention. The fires in the city may have been extinguished and the injured may all have been healed but that didn’t mean things were done. He still needed to deal with thousands of dead bodies, as well as find places for the living and now homeless to stay. As the city lord, it was his duty to look after them and so he needed to get back to work as soon as possible.

Not a moment after he left, Kazuki approached old man Sid.

“Sid, things are accelerating. I need you to start working on the weapon immediately.”

Sid understood as he was in the vicinity when Kazuki and Danny were encircled by the enemy.

With a nod, Sid pointed at several things on a few different shelves.

“I need all of those things moved to my back workroom. Also once I shut that door, no one is to disturb me, not for anything. Does everyone understand?”

There was no protest from the others and everyone gave a nod, well everyone except Sasai.

With a kick from Tozu, Sasai woke up with a start.

Kazuki opened his storage ring and tossed out several cores from the Ancient beasts they had all slain earlier. In total there were 6. Dreunz was still alive so Kazuki didn’t get his and one of the guards guarding Dreunz’s grandson had self-destructed so of course, no one got that Beast core. Shaila, Tozu, and Sasai all received 2 Magical Beast cores.

“You all can get stronger in a short period if you consume those. I’ll guard you so get busy absorbing these cores. For now, we need to prioritize immediate strength.”

Shaila and the rest didn’t hesitate to sit down and start absorbing the power from the cores and at the same time, Kazuki covered not only himself but the rest with a layer of ki. By doing this, they could remain undetected from an outside aura scanning the area.

Kazuki sat down and tried to come up with a plan. He had only faced a small force from the east and yet his entire side was nearly wiped out by a single foe. Kazuki needed more strength, more power. He needed Glacious. Just thinking about Glacious made Kazuki’s mind start to drift to the others and he couldn’t help but wonder how Nunuly and Asuna were doing inside the tiny world in the Rin mountain range.

(A little while longer. After this war is settled, I’ll get Glacious to open his world and I’ll return to their side. Just a little longer, wait for me.)
