Return of the Fallen Volume 9 Chapter 35

Detra, Torzz, and the mysterious woman all stood several miles away in the sky. They observed Zephris and his army of Azirian’s, completely ignoring the many experts who surrounded the metal city.

Zephris gave Detra a respectful nod before speaking calmly.

“Watcher of the world is You’ve told me in the past that you rarely interfere, does that statement still hold?”

Although he spoke calmly, his voice echoed out and entered every ear. Most of the experts were confused by his words but the powerhouses that stood at the peak knew who Detra was and understood what Zephris meant. If she were to interfere, things would truly become complicated. The chances of them living were they to anger her, there were no chances.

Those in the know turned their attention to her and waited. A great sense of unease enveloping them.

Detra seemed to be in a complicated position as she said.

“I have no intention to get in the middle of this. Though I warn not just you but everyone here, this world will not be tarnished.”

Zephris looked at Torzz in annoyance.

“So, that woman freed you I see.”

Torzz’s eyes glowed fiery red.

“You insignificant worm. You should not have taken me captive. Everything I’ve seen, it shall be your undoing today.”

When Torzz spoke up to here the mysterious woman glared at him and he immediately shut his mouth.

Detra seemed annoyed seeing her son’s reaction.

“Zephris, I thought I told you to keep my son in your grasp. Now he serves this…woman. Not only that, your army gives off a sinister quality. Is this the path you spoke of? Is this how you will make the world prosper?”

Zephris was surprised that a Titan agreed to serve someone but there was always a first for something. As for Detra’s question, Zephris nodded.

“Absolutely.”

Detra found no lies or hesitance coming from him and could only sigh.

“Even more reason for me not to interfere. I shall bear witness to this resolve of yours. Let me see how you change the world for the better.”

The woman near Detra smirked.

“Yes alchemist, let’s see what you can do.”

Both Detra and Zephris were annoyed by this woman.

At this time, a few experts bowed respectfully towards Detra and called out.

“Great Watcher, is it true, you are not here to take sides?”

Detra glared at these experts but still gave a short reply.

“I have no reason to, as long as you all respect my husband’s legacy. Do not break the world or I will erase you all from existence. Understand!?”

These experts nodded frantically before each one pulled out magic tools or activated special abilities. As soon as they did this, a large barrier formed around not only the metal city but around all of the Azirian’s and other experts until not even a speck could escape from this place.

Zephris turned his attention back to this army of powerful beings and glared at them.

“Sealing me inside, so you truly mean to kill me huh?”

A large Ancient beast that resembled a humanoid with the head of a serpent hissed out.

“You act like we had any other choice. You have broken the peace all on your own and you will suffer the consequences as well. Taking our family and using them as experiments, what did you think was going to happen. You brought all of this on yourself.”

*Hehehe*

Zephris chuckled before smiling fiendishly.

“You say I am the cause, no. I am the answer. The answer to everyone’s previous crimes. The answer to everyone’s greed and cruelty, the answer to the savage ways you have all stolen from the people. You have taken the food directly from their mouths, coin from their back-breaking labor. You’ve stolen sons and fathers, forcing them to fight petty wars. You’ve raped their daughters, pillaged them all, and milked them dry until they were husk. You all sap the land of its natural resources and devour everything and everything to bolster your own coffers and build your strength. EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU IS A POISON TO THE PEOPLE, A POISON TO THE WORLD ITSELF! I AM THE CAUSE, NO, I AM THE CURE!”

The moment these words reverberated through the sky, these experts felt their skin crawl. They were hundreds of thousands of the top powerhouses on the continent yet they were feeling undeniable fear. They were the rulers of the land skies and seas. They could split the mountains and uproot entire forests with a single breath. They were the ones on top, yet this one being, this one monster, left them speechless and shaking.

The only one who said anything was the same snake beast from a moment ago. He first had to bite the inside of his mouth to settle his nerves before he spoke.

“You are the cure. So to punish all of us, you harm millions. You turn them into puppet monsters and rob them of what made them them in the first place. This city itself sat where the Great forest used to reside. You destroyed it and all of its inhabitants in a single night and claim you are here to make the world better. I know what I’ve done and I know what I’ve done it for. I am not a good person but at least I don’t pretend to be. A cure, hmph, If we are a poison then you are an ocean of it. If we deserve to be put to death, so to do you! You speak of us taking sons and fathers for our wars but that’s exactly what you have done. You took my boy, you did that and I don’t give a shit your reasoning. For that, you shall die and I will be the one who does it!”

Light surrounded the beast’s body and he transformed into a beam of light before shooting forward faster than lightning. It felt like a thousand suns were rushing at Zephris, causing the air itself to warp.

“DIE ZEPHRIS!”

Appearing before Zephris almost instantaneously, This Ancient beast opened his mouth and dared to try and swallow Zephris.

Zephris was in no mood. His hands stretched out and caught this lightning-quick movement. He gripped the upper and lower part of this snake’s jaws and in a single tearing motion, he ripped the creature’s head apart. The Ancient beast suddenly stopped moving and its body went completely limp. Zephris then tossed the corpse into the air before opening his own mouth.

His jaws and mouth stretched open several feet before the corpse landed inside. Snapping his mouth shut, he swallowed the entire corpse in a single gulp. This had all happened so fast that many who had their eyes locked on Zephris, even some of them had missed what had just happened. Seeing how throat bulge before shrinking rapidly though, even if it made absolutely no sense, they knew what he had done and were completely shocked.

Zephris looked over his enemies and his aura began to spread out, surrounding them. Adding magic to his voice he roared out.

“I AM THE ONE WHO EATS YOU NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. NOW COME, BE MY FOOD!”

His voice contained so much power that it caused several thousand experts to physically explode right there on the spot. As a mist of blood fell along with chunks of body, Zephris roared once more.

“KILL THEM! KILL THEM ALL!”

As soon as these words fell, Zephrsi rushed forward, behind him, his army of Azirian’s swooped in and the true battle began.

Like a raging storm, Zephris swept across the battlefield. His entire body was a weapon. Punches flew out with fury and killed any they touched. Several enemies tried going for his blind spot but Zephris could see and sense all on the battlefield. Kicking behind him, space tore slightly and split his opponents into fragments causing them to shatter.

Opening his mouth he roared at those in front of him and a white-blue flame bathed his enemies in a blaze of death.

“Everyone go at him at once, use the weapons otherwise he’ll simply tear through you like scrap!”

Several opponents came down on him at once. Each one had weapons made from god metal, no doubt from what they had stolen before. Zephris could only smirk seeing this.

“I made Orichalcum, you think I wouldn’t be able to unmake it.”

With a single thought, the god metal weapons his enemies held, all at once they melted away. Zephris appeared directly in front of one of his shocked enemies and drove a hand directly through their torso.

The enemy cursed at him.

“Bastard, die!”

The beasts detonated his Magic beast core, trying to at least take Zephris with him but Zephris simply waved his hand. Space opened directly in front of Zephris and a new opening instantly formed a few thousand feet away. The Beasts detonation rippled through this space gate and exited out the other side, killing several of this beast’s allies.

Screams began to fill the battlefield left and right wherever Zephris went.

Outside of the battle, the Mysterious woman watched all of this with a dangerous gaze.

Torzz asked.

“When shall we move?”

The woman shook her head.

“I’ll let you know so don’t ask me again.”

Detra didn’t know what the two were talking about but she still gave them a warning.

“Son, you know my rule.”

“I know mother.”

Detra turend to the woman. She didn’t hide her dislike for her.

“You as well, you know my rule. Even if you are a guest

The mysterious woman though cut her off.

“Save your words for someone who cares.”

Detra looked at the woman as if she was crazy.

“You dare!?”

The woman though was not backing down.

“I do dare. This world does not belong to you, you simply watch over it, you said so yourself. As long as I don’t destroy the world, I can do anything I wish here and there is not a single mortal or Titan who can stop me, that includes you. I originally came here because I was bored and a descendant asked for help, who knew that same descendant would die so soon after I arrived. Seeing this world though, I’ve taken a small liking. I think I will claim it all for myself.”

Detra flew up to the woman and spoke coldly.

“You may be stronger than I but you are not the only one with backers. This world is not for you to claim and if you even think of taking

The woman threw her hands up and laughed.

“I was kidding. I don’t want this whole world but I have been eyeing the continent across the ocean. That I will be taking for myself. You can argue if you want but if we really do get our people involved, I might really just get this little world to myself. So be grateful I only want one tiny little continent and stay out of my business.”

Detra looked as if she would murder this woman here and now and even Torzz was shocked. He had never seen anyone stand up to his mother like this and survive. The fact that his mom said nothing back, he understood just how powerful the woman’s backers were.

Detra cooled off and calmed herself.

“I won’t interfere but even if I don’t, the rule, you cannot break it. Otherwise, no matter who your family is, they will not be able to protect you from

The woman put up a hand and ignored Detra. Detra felt her energy rising and for a split moment she contemplated actually going to war with this bitch but once more she thought of the consequences. She looked at her son’s dumb expression before sighing and vanishing.
