「Oh well, doesn’t really matter! As long as I maintain my HP above the level of eighty percent, I’m not going to get killed!」

But with that kind of chicken defensive play, I highly doubt that you would be able to defeat anything in two or even three hours’ time. When it comes to Luukan’s Alter Ego, we managed to do it with three players and two NPCs, and in case of Golden Crystal Scorpion it was a matter of a whole night. Not to mention that battles like that tend to really tire you out when you are Full Diving for an extended period of time.

「Come on!!! I won’t let you blow your load! I’ll cut you to pieces before you manage to get even a single nut out of this trunk of yours!!!」

Ahh! Shit, the meat seeds! I completely forgot about them! I need to get a move on, before those things start to detonate! Otherwise, I’m going to be in some deep shit here!

「Rest in peace…… Or you know what? Rest in PIECES, seriously……」

I muttered those words while looking at the last of the Chimera dropping to the ground, motionless. That one had a Tyrannosaurus’ torso. Right next to me, there were also monsters with some raptor and People of the Forest parts strapped onto them, but they were all sinking back into the ground. But they were hard to put down, way harder than you would have initially expected…… But well, it’s actually a miracle that we managed to defeat so many of them with just the two of us here. Or maybe its because the components were already weakened before they got assimilated into the Red Dragon? But in that case, what is the deciding factor when it comes to chimeras? Their torsos? Or maybe their heads? But the two of us managed to beat those guys, so what does that tell us here?

「Oi, Deepslaughter? How is your MP level? You’re hanging in there, buddy?」

「Now, now, my dear Sanraku-kun, who do you take me for……? You of all people should be well aware about the fact that a Magic Caster that ran out of MP is nothing but an obstacle, right? But that being said, even a useless Magic Caster can succeed as a flesh toilet, as long as it has the holes that are ready to welcome some meat sticks inside of them!」

「…… Stop it. If you don’t, I’m going to send you straight to hospital.」

「Wait! Please stop, Sanraku-kun! That just took out about twenty percent of my precious HP!」

Hoo? Have I finally arrived at that point in time where my glares are so severe that they can cause physical damage? Nice.

While I try to ignore Deepslaughter who was licking her lips in a rather suggestive way there, I turn my attention towards the Red Zombie Dragon who, depending on the situation and setting here, may or may not have run out of cannon fodder to throw at us.

Every time we keep on defeating the Chimeras that the Red Dragon was throwing at us, there were Chimeras with less and less parts attacking us in the next batch of small fries. And after a while it could be said that it must have exhausted or at least severely deplete the number of things it managed to devour, since the only Chimeras that were attacking us now consisted of the monsters that could have been found in the nearby areas: Raptors, Tyrannosauruses and People of the Forest.

As for what is about to happen from here…… That’s honestly one big unknown to us. Raid monster usually possess at least a few or even several phases, stages or forms, and the things that trigger the shift to another phase is not something that can be universally decided. When it comes to story bosses some items can be used to trigger certain phases or bypass them completely, but I don’t think that would be a case with a raid boss, and one such as this. So I assume that the usual business was implemented here: the next phase is going to occur either due to the raid boss losing a portion of his HP, or the players making a certain action. As for what that action could be…… I have no idea.

But considering everything that we know at this point in time, I would say that emptying the contents of the Red Dragon’s stomach was the most probable flag that would trigger the next stage of the battle. I mean, this monster clearly has “eating” as its main motif, so that would only makes sense, right?

And as if to respond to my hypothesis, the Red Dragon let out a mighty roar, unlike which it had never let out before during this fight.

「VARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!」

「Uwah!」

「First time!? Is it the first time for you to witness someone having their First Blood like that, Sanraku-kun!?」

While bracing myself for what was about to come next, I watched as the Red Dragon continued to roar loudly. Then, as if provoked by the roar, parts and chunks of its red flesh started to fall down to the ground, releasing themselves from their carrier and leaving nothing but a Skeleton Dragon in their wake. And then they all started to rearrange themselves.

「What the…… Uwah!?」

In the first place, this Red Dragon…… Even though it had wings growing out of its back, it never used them to fly in the sky or breathed fire out of its mouth. Or at least we were not lucky enough to see that particular action or attack pattern. But judging by the way in which it was wounded and crippled all over, and those fins…… Could it be that it was in fact an aquatic creature?

I did not delve too much into the lore of this continent before coming here, but apparently there was a dragon here that kicked the bucket even before the players managed to lay their hands it…… Could it be that the “Blue” that was sealed deep under the sea had something to do with this? But this dragon…… Surely, it must be the one known as Eldranza.

Well, it’s all good for now. I mean yeah, sure, story and lore in ShangriLa Frontier are often tightly connected to the opponents the players are facing against, but at least right in this moment the thing that managed to off Eldranza is of no importance to us. The important thing is, from the look of it, this version of Red Dragon had more developed fins and gills…… That is, dead indicators that it was in fact aquatic monster.

「Say, what do you think would happen if you’d get hit by that thing?」

「Oho? What’s this? It’s actually kind of weird to see you get so enthusiastic about a thing like that all of a sudden. What gives?」

Well, I would not say enthusiastic, but…… I guess that you’re right.

All of the red pools now started to return to the Dragon’s body, enlarging it and changing its shape and contours. The Dragon’s form was now gently swaying, looking as it was something in between solid and liquid form. And the way in which its head increased…… This is certainly nothing good.

「Oi, Miss Sexual Harassment Finger? What are we going to do now? Any bright ideas?」

「I wonder if we can perform so Edging play on it!? You know, bring it to the point of almost dying only to cause it to hang on that edge between life and death for as long as we possibly can!? Ahh, just imagining it makes my head spin and my cheeks are hot and red!!!」

Aradval Rebuild…… I wonder if it would like to burn this chick alive? Can it even do that? Oh well……
