ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 340: Dragon! Dragon! Part 6 Part 1

When it comes to the Blue Dragon Eldranza, it may be classified as a Dragon, but it shares a whole lot of characteristics with aquatic creatures. For example, its front legs were actually shaped like fins of the whale from the elbow and below, and those fins were covered in short and sharp scales, the likes of which you could often see on fish.

But as for now, the front fins of this Zombie Dragon were even bigger than its torso from before. And you might have thought that with its bloated size would come a severe decrease in both speed and mobility, but no. Actually, it seems that right now it was even faster than before, which was pretty weird considering its bloated size.

「Abueh…… What’s that? It looks as though something huge is rushing through its body as if it was readying itself to be discharged!?」」

「Well, I mean, it is technically still a Dragon, you know……? And is it not common for humans and other creatures as well? Sometimes, you just want to rub one out and let all that accumulated pathos out into the open, you know?」

「I’m going to forgive you this lame sex joke, but could you say the word “Pathos” but with the first syllable repeated for about six times!?」

「Papapapapapathos!」

Nice, that was as funny as I expected it to be. So not all that much, but hey, it’s the thought that counts, right? That being said…… This is really bad here. This situation was already bad and messed up as it is, but if that dragon started to spit fire or steam or acid at us, it would have been made way worse. No, I think it is going to be a breath, but it might actually start to vomit projectiles. Everything was possible in this case right now. Or it would even start spitting parts of its body, turning them into projectiles.

There was also one more thing that changed in comparison to the previous form. There were some sort of red fumes oozing out from the various holes and torn skin across the dragon’s neck, and those fumes were rapidly spreading all around the area, drastically decreasing the visibility and making it impossible for us to see what was ahead of us.

「I know that limiting the field of view is one of the most commonly used tactics in video games and boss battles, but is it not a little bit cheap in this case? I mean , it was already hard for us to fight back, but at this rate we won’t even be able to see our death coming to greet us!」

「You think death is the only thing we need to concern ourselves with here? What about sexual harassment? Don’t forget about sexual harassment!」

「If I were to choose between the two, I would gladly choose death every single time.」

「As you wish! Death it is!」

「No way! Don’t tell me that Necrophilia is actually your hobby!? You sick woman!?」

We start running away from the Dragon, at the same time avoiding the biting attacks of the skeletal jaws that started to emerge from inside of the newly formed red pools across the battlefield.

Carefully surveilling my surroundings, there were jaws, claws, talons, fins, wings and tails all over the place…… There was no exception. A whole swarm of them.

What the hell is this, even!? What kind of mechanic allows the boss monster to start duplicating itself after vomiting out the contents of its stomach!?

「Hey, are you sure that this is fine, Deepslaughter!?」

As for me, I’m still good to go here. The newly formed red pools feel like flattened and deflated futons, but even with something like that you had to take care of your moves as to not lose your balance and get taken out. However, as long as I had my mobility skills with me, there was nothing to be afraid of here.

However, things are entirely different when it comes to Deepslaughter. If her words are to be believed, she was a “Sage”, the strongest possible magic profession in this game. This is not a Warrior or Magic Warrior, so she probably does not have any mobility skills at her disposal whatsoever. In other words, she is just cut above a piece of wet cardboard, something that would easily get obliterated with one attack should she be hit by it.

It could be easily said here that the battlefield itself is hostile entity towards us, and proper management of enemy aggro is really difficult when faced with circumstances like that. Not to mention that with the two of us here, Deepslaughter is a much better target to go after, mostly because she is so squishy and because her magic attacks are a bigger source of threat, at least in theory.

Not to mention that right about now, the way in which the Zombie Dragon was proliferating was making it seemingly inexhaustible. To be perfectly honest, right here and right now would be the best time to just drop dead and respawn, but let’s just keep on moving to see just how far we can take this battle, shall we?

However…… The answer that Deepslaughter returned to me was far from what someone who was about to give up would say.

「Hey, hey……. I know that I may be just a Magician, but…… That does not mean that we should just give up, right, Sanraku-kun? Even when facing alone a group of horny monsters, the only right answer as to what one must do is to simply give your best, right?」

「Haa……? Wait, wait just a freaking second here.」

Wait, so it was not just my imagination? Or my mind actually playing tricks on me? No way, does that mean……

「Wand Dual Wielding Style…… Normally, you would not believe that something as bullshit as that actually exists in this game, right? But it does! And guess what? With that, the option of actually being able to use magical melee attacks is all but available! “DUAL CHANTING: DOUBLE SPELL!!!” “MAGICAL BLADE!!!”

Upon shouting those word, the wands in Deepslaughter’s hands start glowing with magical energy. That energy starts to gather at the place where she was holding the wands and spreading up alongside the wand, changing its shape into that of a magical blade.

Seeing Deepslaughter holding two short swords made up entirely out of magical energy made me feel the severe sense of deja-vu for some reason. But without any shred of doubt, the aura that was emanating from her at that point was that of a seasoned warrior.

「And it’s not over yet! Now, it’s time for the moment you’ve all been waiting for! Combining the strengthened magic with the physical skills I happened to learn and level up on the side! This is the pinnacle of Imitation Roleplay! It is also an homage to Spell Creation Online! My own take on Sanraku-kun’s “Melee Magician”! My “Front Arts Magician”!!!」
