ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 367 Part 1
ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 367: The Importance of Appointments Part 1
It’s a good thing that this place was so crowded at the current moment. Thanks to that, even if I happened to slip some valuable piece of info by accident, there is a possibility that not that many people heard that. Still, my current position looked especially bleak, but it was at that time…… that the help was offered to me from the side I would have least expected.
「Everyone! Would you kindly turn this way and listen to me for a moment?」
A voice that seemed to be like a melody flowed into the ears of everyone present in here. It was a calm voice, but it also had a certain power to it, making everyone present come to a sudden stop. Even I, who was finally contemplating the idea of using my last resort escape route (suicide respawn) gave the idea a rest for now.
But the reaction of the knights was the one that was most expressive of them all. First they all straightened like pulled strings, and then they all moved to the side and made way for someone who was approaching us. All the while, they were shuddering and looking straight ahead, as if they did not wanted to make eye contact with the owner of said voice.
Some of them were shaking like they were having a seizure. Some of them looked as though they were muttering a silent prayer. Some of them were sweating intensely. All that shaking and trembling caused their armors and equipment to make a lot of loud noise at the same time…… It was a splendid display of both fear and terror. And one look in their eyes was more than enough to see that it was a genuine reaction here. Now won’t you look at that?
Once that person reached to the center of the current gathering, it passed me a fleeting glance and gently put its hand on my shoulder before moving forward. That gesture seemed to be saying that there is no need to worry and everything would be alright now.
「My name is Iristella…… I am the one who issued a certain request to that person you are holding over here. So now, I would like you to let that person go so that I could talk with her……」
「Oh yeah, talk about one hell of a benefactor to have there…… I don’t know what someone like him would have to do with a distinguished and noble person like that woman right here, but I guess a request is a request.」
「Kuh, is this what state power looks like executed in practice……?」
「Is that supposed to be some random encounter, or what?」
「But! We have yet to be done with him! We haven’t yet delivered Divine Punishment onto Sanraku-kun!」
Don’t worry, my friends. The day shall come when you will be able to have your way with me. But this will be a day when there will be no moon rising on the night sky, that is! So there you have it!
Faced with the fact that both His Majesty the King and the Saint Iristella, two of the most powerful people back at the old continent, were now having my back, other players had little to no choice but to let me go, even if they looked extremely unhappy with such turn of events. So I was reluctantly released from the Nelson hold that was placed upon me, and the other players slowly backed away. I was then urged by the Saint to follow her, and I did just that while the expression on my face was a mixture of a relief with bitter smile…… Oh, wait. I’m wearing a veil on my head right now, so, other cannot really see my expression all too well.
That being said, what a development this here was! One that I clearly did not expect to happen so suddenly like that! Needless to say, I went to the Saint’s side, and at that moment the Saint’s guards formed a circle around the two of us, in a rather impressive display of role playing coordination. Once I knew that there was a barrier between myself and all of the other people who gathered here, I could finally let out a deep and long sigh of relief. Faced with both the Saint Iristella herself and her Holy Shield’s Territory, only a complete fool would dare to try and pull off some sort of a crazy stunt here.
「…… I deeply regret to inform you that the Dragon Disaster is approaching here.」
Dragon…… Disaster? What is that? Dragon Disaster…… is that supposed to be some sort of event? Or maybe a monster?
Once again, it is a good thing that there are so many players in here right now and that all of them are starting to make a commotion. If it was not for that, everyone present would have been able to hear what Saint-chan had to say here. But like that, she could continue without much issue.
「The Dragon of Red Howl…… The White Dragon of Madness, Bryleinego…… The Ancient Green Dragon, Brockentoledo…… And the Dragon of Black Violence Noirlind…… They are all coming.」
The moment those words left Saint-chan’s mouth, I could instantly feel that the atmosphere around here instantly dropped to the level of absolute zero and just kept on sinking even lower. It was a revelation that hit me with e strength of a jackhammer to the back of my head, one that was more than enough to spot a person dead in their tracks. However, I knew that I had to keep my act together here, otherwise others might have start to suspect something. Smile, keep the smile on my face, even though I have it covered with a veil, yes.
「As usual, the response that is over the top, but overall appropriate to the gravity of the situation at hand. What I am trying to say here is this: soon, an unprecedented disaster is going to strike this very continent.」
So, to make a long story short, this is like a foreshadowing of the upcoming Unique Scenario. I knew it, this thing started as a simple NPC event but was gradually escalating into something much greater here…… But I know it all too well. Yes, I know that this NPC right here, Saint Iristella, is not just your simple message courier or anything else like that.
「If we want to have any chance at all in fighting this calamity, there is only one thing we can do here: we must unite and face this disaster together.」
Because that particular NPC possesses the ability that makes her words ring oh so true and believable in here. Yes, the ability to predict the future events. …… Or not. From the way she herself described it, her ability is more like a future forecast. And if it is indeed so, her words can be interpreted as “premonitions” rather than sure-fire “prophecies”.
「A beastman fighting a three-way battle….. A birdman impatiently gazing towards the sky…… An Elf who helped to suppressed the Red Disaster…… A Lizardfolk who above all else adores freedom…… A Gragonborn who is a slave to the Black Dragon’s will…… A Giant standing in opposition to the Dragons…… An Insectoid who has the power to make the difference but despises fighting and hates using that power…… And even those who are tainted by evil and are rejected by all others……」
