Now, there was the reaction I was hoping for. Hearing the sheer difference in numerical values just now, the face of the young man from the “Golden Scale Company” went visibly pale. Surely it was not something that he anticipated.

「W-Was that supposed to be a joke? If so, it was a truly good one, dear sir……」

Saying that, I grabbed the items and placed them inside of my inventory once more. Then I stood up and looked back at the man at the other side of the table. Right now was the most crucial moment.

I then snapped my fingers with my left hands, while placing my right hand behind my back and manipulating the fingers so as to take some other items out of my inventory.

The item that I have pulled out starts glowing brilliantly, so bright and so strong that Antonio actually had to avert his gaze from the item in fear of hurting his eyes.

This is all about the Crystal Scorpions here and the materials they give you. Materials, materials, and materials…… All materials. And look here! What a deal! This here is about the ninety percent of the whole Crystal Scorpions materials that I happen to possess on me!

「I present to you, a set of exclusive materials from the Crystal Scorpions! And I have ten sets of those here…… In addition, I have one hundred seventy two armor plates, one hundred twenty one leg joints, three hundred fifty two shells, and eight tails……」

This is a huge package of stored materials. I genuinely think that this one has enough potential to shake the market pretty badly if I were to release it all at once. It would be a fun little thing to see, but I am better than that……

「Now then, how about we talk business here, my dear Antonio-kun? And let us make it so that both sides are going to be satisfied with the profit that they are going to make out of it.」

I was more than sure that this was the last critical hit that I needed to add in here in order for me to get my hands on what I wanted.

「Are you really sure that you are satisfied with this? I’m sure that you could have asked for even more if you wanted to.」

「Yeah, it’s all good. This amount is exactly the thing we needed here: it secures my relationship with the company and sets it in stone, and I am sure that I am going to get the money I want in due time. This is just going to take a little bit longer than I initially expected.」

Well, since it is a game, I am sure that I will get what I want. I have trust in the “Golden Scale Company”, but just in case they would want to misuse that trust of mine, I hope that they are ready to suffer the wrath of the Red Beast Divine Punishment!

「Listen here, Emul. There are instances in this world where you can show your dominance just be the sheer act of being acquainted with someone else. Build a web of connections like that and there will be nothing in this world that can stand in your way.」

This is the thing that we tend to call power.

For the sake of negotiations I have decided to drop the prices quite considerably. It would no longer be the final price that I have proposed, but it certainly helped to cement the deal. But even if I had proposed some truly outrageous price, there was no way that they would let such an opportunity simply pass them by. They would regret it for the rest of their lives.

It’s like a monkey being trapped inside a quicksand. Just by flailing around and not thinking about your actions swiftly you will never get out of it. But as a result of that, they have no idea that they are going to be feeding my wallet this way or another, but I’m going to make the biggest profit……! Kukukuku, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

「Well, I guess it is safe to say that for now we have managed to secure for ourselves the steady source of income for those Elk expenses.」

「But I think that all this money is going to be enough for a whole lot more things then just paying Elk-Onee-chan for her services. Have you thought what to use it for…..?」

Yeah, I think so, too.

However, I have placed two conditions upon the “Golden Scale Company” related to the sell of the Crystal Scorpion items. And based on those two conditions, I believe that not getting one billion mani right off the bat is actually pretty cheap.

First condition was the right to use the “Scale of Balance”, but only inside of the “Golden Scale Company” building. It would most certainly be too much to ask for the right to take it with me when necessary, but if I was to use it somewhere where they could still have the eye on it, it would instantly become more of a compromise rather than condition itself.

And the other condition was to not sell any of those items to the currently ruling King and his people.

If the materials from the Crystal Scorpions are being used as a shield for the First Knight of the royal family, I can only imagine that the chances for the King Toravante to reclaim his throne from the First Prince would be next to none if the current King would get his hands on those materials.

「When it comes to the Toravante administration, they are more peaceful towards the New Continent. But the First Prince wants to go to war, and should it break out, the consequences here would not be pretty. So we are only sparing ourselves the trouble down the line.」

「W-What a tactical genius! I did not think of you as a Master Tactician, Sanraku-san!」

「Don’t be stupid, Emul. This level of scheming is nowhere near Pencilgton-levels.」

First of all, we “buy” the favor of the “Golden Scale Company” with Crystal Scorpion materials. Then we use their connections to gain some money as well as the way to get in touch with the royal family.

So while we are going to pretend that we want to get on King Alex’s good side, we will use that opportunity to sabotage his ambitions from the inside which will let Toravante’s faction grow in strength. Two birds in one stone. But the thought about having to move amongst the nobles was making me sick in my stomach for some reason. Plus, we cannot risk the possibility of Alex reaching out towards other cities and increase his influence. That would be bad for many different reasons.

We also cannot allow other people to know about this, especially Pencilgton. That bitch simply loves meddling in ongoing power struggles, making the lives of everyone around her increasingly more difficult. Not to mention that she would possibly take the whole country for herself if you would let her and sell it for money to whoever would be willing to pay. Or set everything on fire and dance atop the burning cinders once everything is set and done…… Yeah, I don’t want to see another Pencil Warrior Dynasty. One was way more than enough for a lifetime for me.

But as long as I can perform some actions behind the scenes, without my name getting known, everything will be fine. I can make a huge profit on this while maintaining my trust with others.

「Ahh, I knew it! So we are best of friends after all!」
