ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 376: Beam-Mounted President, The Great First Step Part 2

Ehh? Eeehhh…….? Well, if we are talking about a secretary, it certainly must be someone cool and composed. Yes, let’s make them like this, and then like this, then we add a little bit of that as well…… Alright! It is done!

「Please input the secretary’s name? Hmm…… Rice Miso.」

Mackerel, rice, and miso soup. Yes, in the end, when we talk about Japanese breakfasts, there is no better combination than this one. You might even call this a golden combo! Simple yet incredibly delicious!

「Alright! Now that this is all done, let us head off into the neighborhood, and let’s see what kind of people live in here!」

When I first came to my senses, it looked like I was inside of an old, pretty run down and desolated building.

「…… I knew it. After playing ShanFro for so long, each and every other game just pales in comparison. Especially this game here, the movements feel really strange for some reason. But I guess it is only to be expected. And I should be able to get used to it rather quickly.」

I open and close my hands a couple of times, and then move my body around for a moment or two to get the general feel for the controls and see what my condition here is. Then I spotted the glowing Tomahawk that was right next to me, as if it was screaming “Please! Pick me up!”. Oh, and won’t you look at that? It seems that the glowing light was just part of the tutorial here, and it was not the actual characteristic of every weapon in this game.

A bearded man wearing a suit and wielding a tomahawk inside of the deserted house. I’d say that this combination fits just like a fist would fit to the nose, but I was in a hurry, so I guess it’s all fine in the end. No big deal.

「I know that I am supposed to be the President here, but what exactly do I need to do here? Oh well, since I am inside some sort of a building, how about trying to go outside for now and getting my bearings?」

And just as I was about to reach towards the door that looked like its hinges were about to fall off, that very same door was bashed open from the outside!

「Haa…… Haa…… Haaa……!! Kuh, ugh……!!!」

The one who jumped inside of the building was a woman with short gray hair. When I was creating my avatar its expression was pretty blank and meh, but now that I was able to see other characters in motion and being able to express themselves, it was actually pretty good.

「A person……!? Why!? What is a civilian doing in the middle of a battlefield such as this one!?」

I see, it’s time for me to gather some much needed information here. For now it seems that the place I was sleeping in was a place where you would not normally meet normal people on the daily basis.

「Ahh…… Hm?」

There is a small window at the bottom left of the screen. I wonder what it could be?

「Aaah, I see……」

「……???」

While the woman was looking at me with apparent suspicion, I managed to confirm that the dialogue box at the bottom left of the screen was actually the “recommended answers” window.

It’s a system that is fairly common in many full dive dating sims. Since not every person out there in the world possesses adept social skills needed to communicate flawlessly. That is why some games prepare schematic answers and choices for the player to choose from.

This is because not every game out there has the AI that is on par with that of ShanFro. That is why games tend to narrow down your dialogue options to some clichéd responses such as “What kind of panties are you wearing today?” or “Please introduce me to your sister” or other things like that. Just be sure to day those lines with a smile on your face and you should be fine.

Well now, let’s see what our options are this time around?

* Oh my! You seem to be injured! Is there anything I can do to help? Perhaps some way to dress up your wounds?

* Are you with the enemy!? If you are, how many of you are out there and what’s your affiliation!?

* Oh, hello there, my pretty lady! What can I do for you? Perhaps you would like to have a cup of tea together with me?

Except for the very first option, what is wrong with those other choices? Are they perhaps gags or something like that? The second sounds like something a spy or a member of special forces would say upon contact with the enemy. And the third choice sounds just like a cheesy pick up line no matter how you choose to look at it. And we are right in the middle of the battlefield, right? I swear to God, that’s why shitty games are so……

「Hey there, pretty lady! Isn’t that awfully bold of you to just casually jump into a place where a lonely man is sleeping peacefully?」

Of course I was going to choose the third option, the playboy-style one. Because….. .why would I not choose it? This is a game, so why can’t I enjoy it in every possible way I can?

「You , what did you just say……?」

The sound of hoofs striking against the ground.

「Kuh…… I have no idea who you are and what you are doing here, but it seems that you are going to get involved in it, whether you like it or not.」

Oho? It looks like the text at the bottom left of the screen has been updated.

* KICK THE DOOR OPEN!

I see? It’s not something I would not choose to do in a situation like that. I actually like it very much. It’s just my style. It seems that the bottom left of the screen knows exactly what I like here!

「Go down!」

Alright…… And a one! And a two! And a…… THREE!

「Door knocking time!」

All of a sudden, the door was violently kicked open and sent flying, crushing into something on the other side of the room and turning into specs of fine dust.

Looking at who appeared in the doorframe, the man that just rolled into the room gave me some strong “Random Soldier A” type of vibes. Right behind him there were Random Soldier B and Random Soldier C, all dressed up in similarly looking equipment, which was a set of light armor and small weapons.

「I think that this should be more than good enough for the very first battle, huh?」

「Y—You! Just who the hell you are!?」

Oho? There seems to be some sort of update on the bottom left of the screen.

* I AM THE PRESIDENT!

* I AM THE PRESIDENT!!

* I AM THE PRESIDENT!!!

Are those really choices? Because they are one and the same, no matter how you look at it.

「I am…… the President!!!!」

All right! It’s time to make this world great again! As it should be……!!
