ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 562 Part 2

ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 562: The Actions Are More In-Your-Face Than Any Words Part 2

That’s actually quite impressive. And the fact that you can actually do this kind of thing is going to shake the world of video gaming quite a bit, I am sure of that. However, it goes without saying that the main point here was to simply give the presented game a tremendous advantage when it comes to the presentation aspect.

Rust is really lucky to be a part of the community for such a great game. Nephilim Hollow is a really great game, and if its methods of operating the mechas weren’t so convoluted in the first place, it would have been even better. So now they would only need to think about that aspect and not change anything about the other things, and this sequel was bound to be a godly game.

A total of eight people can play the Nephilim Hollow at the same time at this exhibition site, and that fact alone is more than enough to attract a whole lot of attention to the game. Now I wonder, were the players pre-selected? Or maybe chosen as a result of a lottery of some kind? What would they be doing with that many players? Team Deathmatch? Or maybe a Battle Royale? Really now, whatever they would choose to do here, I am certain that is going to look amazing! I mean, it’s Nephilim Hollow that we are talking about here!

「Huh, the color cover.」

「Color…… cover……?」

「Hmm? Ahh, you see? About three of the mechas there have a red paint job? I was talking about that.」

「Ahh…… Yes, now that you mention it, you’re right.」

If you did not know the color of your team before diving into the battle in a game such as this, it was a potential for a tremendous disaster. Especially in a game such as Nephilim Hollow. But that crimson feather is the glorious red that could belong to only one type of a person.

Well, in terms of world-building, it seems to be a setting that is further ahead in time when compared to the first game (according to Rust’s words). And because it was a vastly depopulated game at the current moment, it seems that only Rust’s color scheme was the one that was the most eye-catching. (according to Rust’s words).

So having that fact in mind, it was actually no surprise that Rust’s color scheme would be implemented in the demo of the sequel for all potential players to see (according to Rust’s words).

When it comes to Rust, she tends to talk like a machine gun and jumps from topic to topic as soon as Nephilim Hollow tends to get involved…… But it’s not that I really hate that kind of enthusiasm.

However, I can’t help it but feel that it is actually kind of bad to use the player’s personal color scheme for the sake of the general demo version of the game. Especially if the player in question was a definitive champion of the previous title…… But oh well, it’s all about Rust. If she is fine with it, then I guess that there is nothing that I can do about it.

「Alright, then! Are you guys ready to enjoy some powerful, high speed Nephilim Battle Royale!? Ready…… GO!!!!!!!!!」

It was at this moment that Sasahara-san issued a signal for the game to begin.

One of the crimson-painted Nephilims jumped out into the middle of the battlefield with a maximum power booster that it decided to use right from the get-go.

Because of that, the other seven Nephilims that participated in the battle were immediately put in the close-range, and then the Red Nephilim took a shot at them with a huge sniper rifle that was integrated with its left arm. The shot bullet landed on the other crimson-colored machine who was unable to comprehend what was going on here, that’s just how barbaric that action really was. Was that the Boosting Nephilim’s original intention? It was hard to guess, but apparently it worked splendidly for him. While the Nephilim whose head was crushed by a single blow started to fall down towards the ground, other four Nephilims rushed to the Boosting Crimson who managed to get first blood without any effort. Now, what about the other two Crimson mechas? Would they try to fight long-distance?

「Ooohhh, talk about a mobile warrior. You can see that he has done those kinds of maneuvers thousands of times before. And those moves? Nice.」

「Is this perhaps some sort of martial arts?」

There was a sniper bullet fired from a long distance, and it approached the Crimson Nephilim who was currently busy parrying other enemies with moves that looked like Aikodo at the first glance. And that shot managed to break its sniper ripple arm to pieces. However, even with his weapon destroyed, he still struck the half-broken muzzle into another Crimson Nephilim that stopped moving due to a sudden collision…… and then he fired away.

His left arm explodes from the inside, and a pitiful crimson torso is scooped out by a blast that barely maintains its original direction. It wasn’t overlooked by the exposed gap, and it was wrecked because it was skewered by other Nephilims around it…… The remaining Nephilims on the field: seven.

「Oh, I can see that things are starting to heat up……」

「Without its head……!?」

In Nephilim Hollow, because the Nephilim and the player are integrated by the system, if the head unit is destroyed, the field of vision will be blacked out without any warning or the way to restore it back to normal. In that case, in the previous game it caused the player the need to act cautiously and rely solely on the radar, but…… Could it be that they have changed it this time around? Or could it be that it was simply that Nephilim Hollow player who was used to those kinds of actions? The headless Crimson mecha who jumped into the game without hesitation jumps at the villain who blew his head and launched its counterattack without hesitation.

「No, that’s not it. This is most probably……」

The worst situation out there possible……

The Crimson mecha, the one that was now weighing less because of the loss of its arm, wraps itself around behind the neckless mecha with a behavior that does not seem to belong to Nephilim Hollow, which should be a robot game in terms of classification, although it is a body like a mannequin.

Equipped with an intact right hand, there is a beam chainsaw that growls like a hungry animal……!

The crimson mecha rotates its whole body and its chainsaw cuts off the rest of the headless mecha’s limbs, and then it kicks the headless mecha away since there was no way in hell that it would be a threat any longer here.

The destination of the broken torso was a heavyweight class mecha holding a sniper rifle in the distance, and in reality it would drop out and disappear due to a wreck judgment on the way, but the heavyweight class reflexively shot at the wreckage in an attempt to slow it down.

That slight gap was not overlooked by the other Crimson Mecha. It approached one of the Nephilims that had barely escaped from the melee range, twisted his arm, and tapped his arm with…… the assault rifle. No wait, no way!

「Oi, this has to be a lie, right……?」

「H-Huh!? I-It actually connected……!?」

Pencil Warrior: Oh really now? Were you perhaps visually aiming for someone else instead?

Sanraku: Yeah, but you would never actually believe me if I told you who that someone was. So I’m not even going to bother.

–––––– The pinnacle of crimson is just the amount of glory that you are willing to give each and every single one of them.
